KICK-OFF FOR 2024 NATIONAL YOUTH GATHERING PLANNING
Sunday, August 20, 2023 3pm - 7pm
Youth: 7-12th grade with a chaperone/youth leader
Join SWPA & NWPA Synod youth and adult leaders for a Sunday afternoon gathering at Lutherlyn. There will also be a time for the adults to meet about planning for the 2024 National Youth Gathering.
Suggested donation, $5 per attendee to offset the cost of dinner
Registration is required.
The registration deadline is August 13.
An adult chaperone (at least 1 adult for every 8 youth) must be present at the event. Chaperones are responsible for their youth and should be present during the event. Chaperones/Youth Leaders should have emergency contact info for each youth. Lutherlyn will facilitate activities but youth leaders/chaperones are responsible for their youth.
Tentative Schedule
2:45 - 3:00 – Arrival
3:00 - 3:15 – Welcome and guidelines
3:15 - 5:00 – Youth – Camp Activities (jump pillow, gaga ball, 4-square, nature activity, tractor drawn wagon ride, s'mores, LEGO room, bouldering room, creativity lab)
3:30 - 4:45ish – Adults – 2024 National Youth Gathering Meeting (Small Dining Room)
5:15 - Dinner
6:00 - Worship
After Worship – Go in Peace
How to get to Lutherlyn
Please only enter Lutherlyn's grounds via our main entrance from Dick Road. If you're using GPS our physical address is 500 Lutherlyn Lane, Butler, PA 16001.
From the West:
Take Interstate 79 to Route 422 (the Butler/New Castle exit) and head east 8.2 miles. Make a right hand turn at the 84 Lumber onto Dick Road. The main entrance to the camp is 1.5 miles down the road. The camp driveway will take you directly to the main parking lot and the camp office.
From the East:
Take Route 8 to Route 422 and head west (towards New Castle) 7 miles to the 84 Lumber. Make a left hand turn on to Dick Road. The main entrance is 1.5 miles down the road. The camp driveway will take you directly to the main parking lot and the camp office.
