Lutherlyn is happy to welcome Ryan, Barb, and Toby to our full-time staff. Ryan Ebner is our NEW Development Director. Ryan has been at Lutherlyn since he was 9 years old as a camper, summer staffer, intern, and now as the Development Director. Barb Coon has been serving as a part-time housekeeper since June and is now the full-time head housekeeper. Toby Vollnogle has been working on grounds crew part-time for the past year and is now a full-time part of Lutherlyn's maintenance team. Welcome Ryan, Barb, and Toby. These new additions to the staff at Lutherlyn will allow camp to better serve our guests and continue to provide excellent programing and oportunities!

We know that our website is in need of some serious TLC. We will be updating, adding, and improving in January. In the meantime, the 2012 Second Season Calendar, 2012 Summer Camp Schedule, and Summer Employment Section have all been updated. Stay tuned for many more good changes!

Pastor Pat Maier (former summer staffer, development director, and long-time friend of camp) died Tuesday afternoon, November 22. His funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, at First English Lutheran Church, 241 North Main Street, Butler. That evening at 6:00 p.m. the family will receive visitors at a reception held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Butler in lieu of visitation hours.

We had some great finds at the Archaeology site this week. "Life in the Wild" campers found a 3 cent nickle from 1867 and a speerhead that we believe is around 4,000 years old!

The Bouldering Room is a HUGE SUCCESS!! The campers (and the staff) love it! The new High Ropes Course and Climbing Wall will be constructed over the next two weeks.

The NEW MATTRESSES ARE IN! All of the beds on main camp have brand new mattresses! The Shaulis cabins will have new mattresses next week. Everyone loves them!

Spring is in the air at Lutherlyn! The most obvious sign of spring at camp is all of the kids at camp each day for Environmental Education Field Trips. It is wonderful to hear the sounds of kids around camp again! The Environmental Education staff has been busy leading lessons for day-long and overnight field trips.

Registrations for the summer of 2011 continue to come in. The early bird deadline is May 1st. Campers registered by May 1st will receive a FREE t-shirt when they arrive at camp this summer.

Thanks to the generosity of many kind donors, Lutherlyn is getting NEW mattresses for EVERY SINGLE bed on camp! The new mattresses will be put in the cabins on May 21st. Many thanks to everyone who made a donation towards the new mattresses!

Over 100 volunteers came to Lutherlyn and worked in the rain on Saturday, April 16th. We completed every project on the list and camp looks great! Thank you to everyone who came out to lend a helping hand! We really appreciation your help! The next work day is on Saturday, May 21st. This work day is dedicated to putting the NEW mattresses in the cabins.
